What is a Storybook Series?
A storybook series is a collection of personalized children's storybooks that share the same characters. In Lullaby, instead of uploading photos and setting up characters each time, you can reuse characters from a previous story to create new adventures — keeping the same look and feel across all your books.
How to Create a Storybook Series
Step 1: Create Your First Story
Start by creating a story as you normally would:
- Tap Add Character to add your characters and upload their photos.
- Write a prompt describing the adventure.
- Choose an art style and generate the story.
Once your first story is complete, you're ready to start a series.
Step 2: Reuse Your Characters
When you go to create a new story, you'll see a Reuse characters button in the character area below the prompt. This button appears once you have at least one completed story with characters.
- Start a new story — Go to the home page to create a new story.
- Tap "Reuse characters" — You'll find this button below the prompt area, alongside any characters you've already added.
- Select characters — A panel will open showing characters from your previous stories. Pick the ones you want to include in your new story.
- Write a new prompt — Describe a brand new adventure for the same characters.
- Generate — Your new storybook will feature the same characters in a fresh adventure.
You can mix reused characters with new ones. Tap Add Character to add a new character alongside your reused favorites — perfect for introducing a new friend or sibling into the series.
Tips for a Great Series
- Keep the same art style — Reused characters are linked to the art style from their original story. This keeps the visual feel consistent across your series.
- Build on previous adventures — Reference events from earlier stories in your prompt to create a sense of continuity. For example: "After their space adventure, Emma and Leo discover a hidden underwater kingdom."
- Vary the settings — Same characters, different worlds. Try a forest adventure, then a city mystery, then an ocean expedition.
- Add new characters gradually — Introduce one new character at a time to keep the story focused.
What Gets Reused?
When you reuse a character, the following carries over:
- Character appearance — The cartoon version of your child, so they look the same across stories.
- Character name — No need to type it again.
You'll still write a new prompt and can choose different settings for each story.
Reused characters are linked to the art style they were originally created with. If you want to try a different art style, you'll need to add the characters again with new photos.
