What is a Story Prompt?
Your story prompt is the short description you write to tell Lullaby what kind of adventure to create. The prompt is the most important input — it shapes the plot, setting, and tone of your child's story.
How to Write a Good Prompt
A great prompt includes three things:
- Something about the child — their interests, personality, or a real-life situation.
- The adventure — what happens in the story.
- The setting or theme — where and when it takes place.
Example Prompts
- "Emma loves dinosaurs and is nervous about her first sleepover. She discovers a friendly baby T-Rex who helps her feel brave."
- "Ben is obsessed with space. He builds a rocket in the backyard and visits the moon, where he meets a family of space rabbits."
- "Maya loves baking with her grandma. They bake a magical cake that brings the whole neighborhood together."
What to Avoid
- Prompts that are too short — "A story about Emma" doesn't give enough detail.
- Violent or scary themes — Lullaby creates age-appropriate stories for children ages 1-12.
- Too many plot points — Keep it to one main adventure. The AI works best with a focused story.
✨
Include real details from your child's life — their favorite toy, their pet's name, or a place they love. These personal touches make the story truly special.
Prompt Length
Aim for 2-4 sentences. This gives enough detail for a rich story without overwhelming the AI. The minimum is 10 characters and the maximum is 2,000 characters.
